Access is the ultimate tool to keep your personal data secure.

Designed as a native app that pairs perfectly with the Passwords app, Access offers unparalleled privacy and security. The app is free from ads, logging, or tracking of any kind. In fact, Access is built without the use of any third-party tools or code.

Supported Data Types

Access offers several common document types for saving, including credit cards, bank accounts, and driver’s licenses.

If you would like to save something that is not listed, we recommend using the Secure Note data type, adding custom fields and attachments as necessary. You can also suggest new document types to us by submitting a Support Request.

Storage Limits

Access does not limit the number of saved items or the size of the attachments. Access data may, however, count against your iCloud storage space.

Using Access with iCloud

Access uses iCloud to back up your information and sync it across your Apple devices.

iCloud sync is enabled automatically unless your iCloud is turned off completely.

You can disable or enable data sync with iCloud for Access in your iCloud settings.

Security & Encryption

On-Device Data Security

For on-device storage of Secure Data, Access uses Apple platforms’ data protection classes with the strongest protection level: Complete Protection.

For the data protection to take effect, an active passcode or password needs to be set for the device. Secure Data is then automatically encrypted and decrypted by the system.

Access does not rely on any custom encryption algorithms or cryptography features.

iCloud Data Security

Access is using Apple’s industry-leading iCloud encryption to protect your information. No data is ever sent to any server other than iCloud. The app doesn’t create, access, or store keys for any encrypted data.

All Secure Data saved in Access is always encrypted in transit and on iCloud servers with the standard data protection, which is the default level of protection for iCloud. This is the same level of data protection that is used by apps such as Photos, Notes, iCloud Drive, and Wallet.

For the highest level of cloud data security, we recommend turning on Advanced Data Protection for iCloud. When turned on, all Secure Data stored in Access is end-to-end encrypted.

Your Secure Data, usage information, encryption keys, as well as your selected data protection level, are never known to the Developer.
